ZigBee Ethernet Gateway

Cirronet has developed modules that integrate ZigBee wireless technology easily and inexpensively into existing industrial automation networks: its ZigBee ModBus Gateway and ZigBee Sensor Modem for industrial automation.

Specifically, Cirronet's products allow PLCs from a variety of vendors to communicate with remote sensors and actuators over a ZigBee network using standard ModBus addresses and commands. Since the ZigBee ModBus gateway communicates with the PLC using the ModBus protocol, existing monitoring programs can still be used to report on ZigBee connected devices.

Companies are increasingly using wireless sensors and networks to monitor factory floor conditions and control automated systems. Wirelessly networked monitoring and control products based on the ZigBee standard create easily deployed, redundant path, low-cost systems for integrating even the simplest sensors into industrial automation systems.

Wireless Ethernet Bridge

Trango's new Atlas Series of Tri-Band Wireless Ethernet Bridges is the first radio of its kind capable of operation covering the license-exempt 5.8 GHz ISM band, the lower 5.3 GHz U-NII band, and the proposed upper 5.47 GHz U-NII band. The Atlas Series utilizes a high-performance OFDM architecture with dynamic adaptive modulation and a contention free, point-to-point protocol. With user selectable data rates from 6 through 54 Mbps and employing Dynamic Frequency Selection and Transmit Power Control as required by the new U-NII band regulations, the Atlas delivers 45 Mbps actual user throughput at the Ethernet port over a range from 6 miles with the integral antenna to 20 miles with the connectorized model and external high gain antennas.

The Atlas Series is configured to support up to 24 non-overlapping channels across the U-NII and ISM bands. Powerful interference mitigation tools are designed into the radios such as adaptable FEC, ARQ with variable sliding window and automatic RF power control. Network security is uncompromised with strong 128-bit proprietary encryption, MAC layer address authentication, over-the-air data scrambling, and two-level password control. The Atlas Series is managed and controlled by remote and local management platforms including Telnet, SNMP, and HTTP. A built in site survey utility allows for rapid installation while asymmetrical bandwidth control allows the network operator to segment classes of services to its customer base. The Atlas Series command feature set includes attention to the smallest detail with features such as remote temperature and input voltage measurement allowing operators extensive control of their network.

Encased in a NEMA 4 rated aluminum housing and qualified to meet or exceed IP67 standards, the Atlas Series radio is designed to withstand the most demanding outdoor environments with robust and reliable performance. The first product to be launched in the Atlas Series, the P5010M Layer-2 Bridge, features an integrated panel antenna, or is available as a stand-alone connectorized radio supporting external 2-foot to 4-foot dual-polarity dish antennas. The Atlas Series provides exceptional performance and value for last-mile connectivity solutions (Internet, T1/leased line replacement), enterprise networking, PBX extensions, utility SCADA/data acquisition systems, and IP-based video surveillance systems.

Trango Broadband Wireless develops and manufactures broadband wireless access solutions used globally by service providers, municipalities, and small business.
